Timesheet Error On Approvals

description

I am seeing the same error in the queue for Timesheet Approvers:
Error summary/areas:
There has been an error processing a timesheet for which you are/were responsible. Check your approvals list to locate the offending timesheet if one exists. The error condidtion may be related to the fact that Timesheets are a state driven feature; therefore, the allowable values for processing are dependent upon the existing value which for this transaction was 3. Refer to the documentation to determine which status transitions are allowable and submit the transaction.

This seems to be related to the Codeplex solution, and it looks like other developers have run into the same issue:

I'm also getting the same error message and would like to know if anyone knows how to fix this before opening a case with Microsoft. The Timesheet shows as Approved in the timesheet list, I just get the red error message in the "Timesheet Approvals" section of Project Server 07:

"Timesheet 'My Timesheet', [User], 28 (12/15/2008 - 12/21/2008): While communicating with the Project Server an error occured. Check connectivity with your administrator to determine if further action is necessary."

Queue Error:
"The error condidtion may be related to the fact that Timesheets are a state driven feature; therefore, the allowable values for processing are dependent upon the existing value which for this transaction was 3. "

I just deleted the queued items. Retrying them didn't work and i noticed the timesheets are still there and I am able to report on them so the error doesn't seem to have a purpose.

I had the same issue here today (02/03/2009), a team leader received the error regarding 8 timesheets from 3 individuals who submitted their sheets. I think it must be tied into a Synch problem somewhere along the line.

The Resolution:
I asked the Timesheet Approver to Recall the affected timesheets.
The Timesheets the when back into his 'Pending Approval' queue.
The Timesheet Approver then approved the timesheets, which went through without error.

Cheers

I found this to be an error when the SQL server and Project Server times were out of Sync. This caused the queue jobs to be held open for the timesheet which caused a problem when the service processed the jobs. Can anyone verify this?

I'm still looking for a solution for this problem too. Any help appreciated.
